rims for 12 sr

I thought I'd start a thread on rims for the 12 Sr . With the Prado rims not fitting due the the calipers what are the options. I've got some gu 8 inch with + 10 offset. Are there any options for a 16x7 inch rim. Keeping.with steel rims makes and offset would be great

Cheers mate thanks. Any idea on the offset. After a few calls to matt from monster rides he has settled my mind a bit.

Is that at stock height? No rubbing?

Have you tried the 120 series 17" prado steelies? they should fit over the caliper

Ah good suggestion. I think they do fit but I want to stay with 16 inch wheels. Was at a shot the other day and. Found out that CSA steel sunraysia rims fit. Either white or black. Not sure on any others as yet

ON BEHALF OF A NEW MEMBER
Hi,

I have a 2012 SR Dual Cab Hilux stock standard.

I am wanting to put better tyre and rims on it as the cheese cutters dont cut it.

Ive had a look at some Rims and really like the KMC Wheels.

More specific the KMC XD 775 Rockstar http://www.kmcwheels.com/wheels/?siteid=3&groupid=36

They come in either a 17x8 with a +10 or +35 offset

I am wanting to pair these up with some Cooper Tire AT3's 265 - 65 - 17

I am going to put on the Utemart Flares on the front, i have a alloy tray on the back.

Just wanting to know if this rim and tyre combination will fit and if possible i could go with an even larger tyre that is legal in QLD.

Previously i was fitted from the Toyota dealer aftermarket rims and Cooper Tire AT3's 265 - 65 - 17 however they were hitting the inside of the suspension control arm and have since returned for my money back since they didnt fit and wore a good 1-2cm groove on the inside of the tyre, it was more than likely the offset of the rim.

fwiw, 265/65/17 is stock tyre size on the SR5 rim (17x7.5 +30)

iirc, with a 2" lift it should be possible to goto 265/70/17 on the same rim

So what offset will work with the kmc ? The +10 or +35 ?

neither are perfect. that said, I'd take the +10 over the +35 as that will allow you to go to a bigger tyre later and not have to change rim

Hi guys I just put some prado 150 series 17" alloys on 265*65 BFG all terrains. They are +25 offset and sit pretty nice I think.

Image

Here are some pics of offset with the standard wheels and ARB flares
Image
It measures 66mm from edge of tyre to outside of ARB flare with the standard 16" wheels I think they are a +45 offset.

This is a pic with the +25 and 265*65*17, now it measure 16mm.

OK people be gentle, I am new to this forum stuff but a long time Hilux owner. I am soon to take delivery of a new SR Dual Cab and would like to upgrade the H/T 205's to something more like a 245/70 A/T. This will obviously require wider rims (alloy or steel) and not dramatically effect the rolling diameter. I am having some struggles finding which offset, rim, tyre would be most straight forward. Various rumours abound as to offset issues, brake caliper fouling etc. Your thoughts would all be appreciated.

Lads. SR lux without flares. Wanting to keep the 16" steel rims but upgrade to an all terrain. It will have a 41mm lift next week. What tyre size will fit? Cheers
