New 32" Tyres & Rims without a lift?

Hey guys,

I've got a bit of a dilemma, my main aim was to fit all my heavy mods (2nd battery, winch, side steps, rear bar, sliders etc) PRIOR to doing my 2" lift so I could fit bigger rims and go up to 32" tyres. A few of my mates have had major issues with sag and suspension settlement when fitting mods AFTER lifting. Looking to avoid that issue if I can.

My tyres are just about shot, 100K on a set of Dick Cepeks and will need changing within the next few weeks.

I've been spending a heap of time searching on the forums, but is there any possible way I can fit 32" tyres and a 16x8 steel rim before I've done a lift? I won't be offroading in this time and will just be city/freeway driving for the next few months until I add all the extras for my Cape trip.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Pretty sure it won't be drama you'll just need to remove your front mudflaps

Yeah you can fit 32 inch tyres on a stock hilux and as bat091 said you have to remove mud flaps they will only just fit and may scrub when you turn into driveways and definatly offroad

I would think you will always have 'settlement' or sag after any new springs are fitted regardless of whether the extras/mods are fitted before or after. The total weight would affect how much settlement ! Depending what you carry in the back I would be going a 3" on the front and a 2" on the back, cheers

Cheers for the advice, just firming up tyre selection now and will then get the work done. Cheers!

Mate they have been great, I haven't noticed a massive change in gearing and still getting 9-9.5L/100kms, plus they look the trick! :D

+30.

Probably should've gone +20 to get a bit more width.

I wouldn't think so, the P30 is keeping everything tucked in nice and tight just like factory.

Awesome! Thanks for your help, got the same idea as you to try and leave the lift till the very end. But my god looking at these stock wheels and tires is making me wanna puke

well iv'e had my 265/70/17 ko2's on for months now well mine didn't fit all at with no lift major scrubbing issues on the inner guard and front bumper i doubt they would even fit with a lift and the front bumper on only a bull bar would fix the issues

Trying to decide what size to get for my lux and was looking for some insight from you guys. Thinkinh of 285/70r16 which is about 32/11.5 and if i cant get them to fit ill go for 265/75r16 and was wondering if either of these would fit with just taking mudguards off and im also getting an xrox bar so front clearance shouldnt be an issue. Would these work offroad. I would prefer the 285s if possible

Depends on the offset of ya wheels. But either way you'd be pushing your luck to fit 285s fit no lift!
