If i went for the 285s would the problem be the uca or the bodymount or the guards? If i went for the 265s what would you recommend offset? From what ive heard i think +20 but im happy to be told im wrong haha

Most I've seen with no lift and factory offet (+30) is 265 and ya would have bee lucky to fit a match head between the tyre and the uca. +20 should give ya room for most brands of tyre in 265. Easier if ya do a lift first!

Well ive decided to go ahead and get some new tyres in the next couple of weeks. i havent got a lift but mates have commented on how high mine is without the lift so the springs must have barely sagged. one of my mates thought i had a 1 or 2 inch lift. i was looking at bfg km2s in the 265/75r16. Should i go +20 for offset? Or is the extra 10mm extra height worth it over the 31s with the risk of it not fitting and rubbing.

I just fitted Hankook RT03's 265x70x17 [31.6"] on new factory TRD alloy rims +30 offset with factory suspension on a V6 with TRD skirts.
Tyres just rub sometimes at mid lock on the edge it the TRD skirt mounted below the bumper [all of which will be replaced with a new Xrox bar in about two weeks once the ship to NZ arrives].
I was surprised by how much the bigger tyres pulled down the top end acceleration. I think I would now struggle to beat a V6 Comodore at the lights.

16inch with no lift?

Postby krayzie on Thu, 13 Jul 2017 3:15 +0000

Hi Guys

im wondering what tyre size to go on a 16inch rim that wont scrub, is it feasible or should i just stick with the stock 17

i have a 2013 sr5 with no lift currently

im ultimately tossing up to go smaller rim and get more rubber or stay with the 17inch factory rim and keep the current 265/65/17

i would like to put BFG KO2's on replacing the bridgestone HTs

thanks

Threads merged

Mate - you could go 265/70 R16 to maintain your present diameter of 30.6" but would really be achieving a lot in side wall
Others on this thread have put 265/75 R16's on without lift but if you are going to use it on any proper off road tracks it will need a lift
If your not going off road stick with your 17" rims and tyres

Thanks for merging my thread.

i do 80/20% off road and nothing crazy fire trail and some single trail but nothing with deep ruts - i normally opt for the chicken track

i did a comparison with the same width and change the profile to 70%, it looks like i get half an inch more profile of rubber with keeping the same diameter

thanks

would i be pushing my luck going 265/75/16 with no lift??
