FJ Cruiser Wheels

Postby Uhhhuh on Fri, 03 Feb 2012 4:43 +0000

Hi Guys, I am new here and have had a look around but not having much luck.

What is the offset on a 2012 SR5 Alloy wheel and what is the offset on 2012 FJ Cruiser Wheels?

I believe the FJ wheels will fit fine on on a 2012 Hilux but just wanted to check if the offset is different as I am looking for a set of wheels with a slightly wider stance.

Also what is the best offset to look for if I wanted to fit a 32" and have it sit out near the guard a bit more to fill them out?

THanks

If the 2012 lux same as 05-11 the hilux is +30 offset and i believe the FJ is +15. This is the ideal offset for 32's and 33's. The stock 17 sr5 hilux alloys will take a equivalent 32 inch ture but no bigger with the factory offset. I run the equivalent 32 on my 2010 hilux with factory 2011 17" alloys. Pretty sure size is 265/70/17 .

2012 SR5 and 2012 FJ Cruiser Wheels Offset

Postby MarkYounger on Fri, 03 Feb 2012 10:03 +0000

I've got older FJ rims and they're 0 offset. I'm running 32" at 265/70 r17 and they work great I pinned back the mud flaps and no rubbing now.

Yeah I heard they were 15mm different so should give a slightly wider stance yeah and fill out the guards?

I quite like the look of that. Looks like they fit pretty well too, is there much rubber peeking out past the guard at the rear?

Ive been saying this for years....

FJ wheels being a +15 offset are ideal for a couple reasons:

1) +15 offset is the largest offset increase you can go legally

2) The wheel itself is ideal fo fitting a 285/70x17 (33") tyre and keeping it off the mount and everywhere else.

3) Alllows you the room/option to install larger brakes if your hilux came out with the factory smaller ones.

4) I rekon they look good 8-)

I like them as well, I had a set sitting in my factory for a week or 2 very tempting indeed :D

So will they fit prado brakes, or ably fj/vs calipers?

Look great I had a chance time buy a set at a steal of a price but money was tight at the time and I took the sensible ooption of holding off , now I regret it. Will be on the lookout for a set myself again if money allows.

They do look good!

I made an offer on eBay that was declined on a set of these, I since changed my mind and bought a different set of wheels. Anyway the guy rung me back today, perhaps to accept my offer(not sure never got that far) so if anyone wants a set of 5, pm me and I'll give you his number. If still available you would get them for 1000-1200.
They where in Anna bay, north of Newcastle.

All I actually wanted was a sixth spare, and replace my steel spare so I bought a full set of hilux 2013 sr5 wheels, ill keep two and sell two. leaving for a big trip soon with 6 matching alloys and 6 brand new bfg mt.
