Cooper Discover STT Mud Terrain
and just a nice black wheel.

eventually I want to upgrade the suspension I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what size tyres will work on my ute. also don't know much about offset so some info on that would be helpful.

fyi, positive offset is closer the the car. negative is away from the car.

Now if you want positive, I'd prob go with a +20. if you wanted more negative, then I'd look at 0 offset.

Yeah I'm after more positive. My 10.5s on sr5 rims already spit enough crap up my doors

Matty, I'd prob be looking at flares.

if you go any more positive (or wider tyre), you may rub on the UCA

I'm in the process of looking at replacement tyres for a potential purchase in the coming weeks, Bit hard to find an All terrain that fits the std SR5 7.5inch rim? or is it just me?

Getting a 2inch lift, and thinking of sticking with the 265/65/17's but changing them to an AT,

Heard Kenda KR28's are doing good things with the AT's lately?

there should be lots of options in 265/65/17 or 265/70/17

Or 245/70/17 (shock, horror :o ) which is a direct diameter match for 265/65/17 and sits very nicely on 7.5s.

If you want to go up that little bit in dia, as Packeteer said, just about everything is available in 265/70/17

Cheers :)

I have spoken to a few places and they have just said the 7.5inch rim is a bit harder to mate?

Although saying that they probably want me to buy rims from them also lol,

Kenda's anyone????

Contemplating 2" OME lift on my SR5 but still can decide whether to go Bridgestone Dueler A/T 265/65/R17 or 265/70/R17...

I really don't want any hassle with them rubbing anywhere plus don't want any increase in fuel consumption so think I'll just replace the stock 265/65/R17 and be done with it. Such a hard decision though.

Any comments or advice guys?

Your proposed lift will increase fuel consumption also, just something else to consider. ;)

I would have thought the tyre increase effect on fuel efficiency compared to the suspension lift would be significantly more.

Lift = increased coefficient of drag = more fuel.

Bigger wider tyres = increased gearing and increased rotating mass and increased rolling resistance = more fuel AND decreased braking performance.

Bigger tyres, lift, roof basket, bar work, etc. all = more fuel. Probably add 0.5-1 L/100km for each item (some are worth more than others). Chips and exhausts can help negate this IF YOU ARE DISCIPLINED WITH YOUR RIGHT FOOT AND DONT EXPLOIT THE EXTRA POWER THEY PROVIDE!! Will they pay for them selves, eventually in your children's lifetime, does it help us justify their existence, absolutely. :D

My Bridgestone rep is very confident 265/70/R17 will fit without rubbing after my 2" OME lift.

He says he pulls that size off Hilux's from the mines with no lift all the time and they never touch.
Maybe the mining companies remove the mudflaps but that should be all there is if at all.

Ryno I would be very surprised if an AT tread rubbed in 265/70 size. My KM2's rub the mudflap on full lock but only if I get a bit of flex so there must be stuff all in it. There is a bit more rubber sticking out to consider. Also remember the OME suspension will only give around a 40mm lift. Maybe down to 35mm after sag and a few accessories added. A quick fix that I am yet to do is grab the Mrs hairdryer and heat a horizontal strip under the bottom screw on the front mudflaps and bend then back a cm or 2.

Anyone know if 275/70/17 doable with 2" lift and standard p30 sr5 alloys or would I need to get some p20?
Thanks
