make sure they balance them properly! and make sure the weights they fit are not the crappy stick on ones that fall off as soon as you leave

Like I have said in another post....I've been buying my tires from Tempe Tires for over 20 years and never once have I had a problem, or have I lost a weight due to incorrect fitment. I have bought everything from 35 inch Mud tires on 15 inch rims to 22 inch tires on bling bling rims, not to mention everything in between....Richie you have nothing to be concerned about IMO.

I purchased some Dunlop SP Sport Max for my xr6 ute and were terrible compared to the set previously purchased at Beaurepaires.

A few people on the ford forums and friends said they may have been an imported tyre with a rubber compound not suited for AU road and weather conditions.

Not sure if this is right....... but may need to be wary if it is the case.

if you get a few different quotes bounce them back off each other untill you get the best price.

say you can get x tyre at y place for z much and see if * can do better.

I had problems with them, I had my cooper at3 s fitted and on the highway home the car nearly shoot its tub off. Went back and they re balanced then but still not good. This happend a few times. Then i was told its the drive shaft or something, But i had 22'' rims before and could sit at 110 with no shudder at all. so if there was a bent shaft then why diddnt it wobble to start with.

Anyways went to bob jane explaned what happened, they re balanced and the weights were in completely different places, But its great now.

Maybe tempe doesent have a balancing machine and just guess where to put the weights on. Anyways the tyres were cheap.

I bought six 265 70 17 BfGoodrich Km2's for $299 each from Tempe today and got a free alignment. Definitely a bunch of reformed crims working there, but geez they were polite and efficient.

Ive just been told that Tempe tyres use "parallel import" tyres, meaning they are not made by BF and they use a different, presumably cheaper compound. Admittedly i was told this by my local tyre shop so im not sure what to believe. Although it does line up with the guys saying tyres from tempe didn't wear well

I think you will find they are genuine, its just if they import tyres from the US for example. Ie BF Goodrich has tyres complianced for Australia, for Europe and the US etc. The tyres local retail outlets sell come via BF Goodrich distributers in Australia where i believe these guys buy there tyres direct from Overseas cutting out the Aussie Distributer.

I dont know this for a fact but it is what i was told. Im happy to be corrected if i have been given the wrong info here. In some instances i would guess they are made in the same place but may have varying codes or numbers for US or Aussie tyres etc...

Parallel import means they are still genuine product but are sourced through an unofficial supplier. BF Goodrich Aust will not warrant the product if it was not sold through them, same as importing your own Toyota

The tyres are usually old stock that they get from the states so the rubber will technically be harder which is probably not a big concern on a fourby but if you were buying performance tyres you might think twice

You won't hear any kind words about Tempe tyres from anyone within the industry as they have upset a lot of suppliers and retailers
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

yeah that makes sense, the bloke at my local tyre shop did get a little dirty when i mentioned I'd got a price from Tempe. He then went on to discredit them as much as he could, including the parallel import thing.
