Brand: Cooper

Type: S/T MAXX. A/T

Size: LT245/75/R16

Suspension: stock SR. No flares (could do with them though)

Rims: Stock SR

Wear/performance: so far I'm very happy! They are very quiet, they look tough and perform very well on the road, wet and dry, and also I'm the mud. Havnt tried on sand/rocks yet and only had them about 800km so can't comment on the wear but 60,000km warranty is re-assuring.

BRAND. Bridgestone D697 (the update from 694s I think)

TYRE SIZE. 255/70 R15

TYPE. A/T

SUSPENSION LIFT. Standard suspension, no flares.

RIM SIZE. SR5 rims. Remember to get the SR5 nuts with the wheels - Toyota will charge $13.75/nut. Try anywhere else first!

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD: Can't say about wear yet - only a couple of thou on them. They are WAY superior to the standard 205s that come stock. Quiet at highway speed. No issues with sliding in the rain and had a great time on rocks and a small amount of mud last weekend. Traction was excellent aired down. Will update post after a decent amount of km.

question...265x70xR17 on 17x7.5 for my 2012 SR5. Will there be any rubbing issues? Not getting a suspension lift at this stage.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah mate depending on the tire you will probably have to remove the front mud flap. With a good alignment and pining my flaps back I didn't remove them.

My 08' SR5 runs the same size in MT ATZ'S. I've still got all my mud flaps and no rubbing. You should be fine.

Brand: Yokohama

Type: Geolander MT (directional)

Size: 31/10.5/r15

Suspension: stock SR. No flares (could do with them though in the mud!)

Rims: Stock SR5

Wear/performance: purchased second hand, I'm estimating they had 50-60% when I got them. At low psi they did howl a bit but I pumped them up to about 34pound and now I dont notice. at 70-80km you do get a bit of a rumble as you would expect with directional muddie.
On and off road characteristics very respectable. Dig through mud well, handle ok on gravel but not fantastic and suprisingly well on the tar/in wet. Wear was acceptable, done about 17,000km on them and down to about 30%. 2 were a bit further worn and had them on the front.
However, managed to get 2 punctures/flats in a week with the 2 front tyres, wasn;t impressed with this considering one was straight highway and other was high speed dirt road.
Would I buy them again? Yes, if they were cheaper than BFG, cooper and Micky 's.

hi all,
I have been searching hard on this site but still cant find the answer. What i would like to know is anyone running 285/70r16 (31.89x11.5r16 nitto trail grappler MT). I ordered a set of 6 from the states and im not sure what offset to get when i buy new 16x8 steel rims (dynamic rims only make 0 and +20 in that size for the lux). I have a 50mm lift front and back, on a sr5 08 with arb bull bar. I have 265/75r16 on at the moment on csa rims +28 no scrubbing. If i go to a 0 offset the rim sticks out about 40mm more on the flair side and i think this is too much but i have no idea. Any help would be great cheers.

great posts- good to see all the details but i have a quick question..
if i was to go for 265/75/R16 on a 2012 SR hilux with a 2" lift would i have some trimming/cutting to do or is it just as simple as removing the mudflaps?
i seen this combination on a few rigs in this post but some had mentioned trimming and others havent.
any help would be appreciated.

Hey Frenchie
I've got 265/75/16 copper st max on 2012 sr with no rubbing or mud flap removal.
I do have a 3 in" lift but there would still be plenty of room with 2".
Really happy with the st max, a great aggressive AT!
Hope this helps.

So Could barely find any 16x8+10 offset patrol rims, so going to get some 16x8 with zero offset, in black dynamic rims, to put my 265/75/16 km2's on. This will be fine with the monster rides kit..........pretty sure it should be, just need a few answers to make it totally bulletproof...

Brand: Bridgestone D697

Tyre size: 265 / 65 x 17"

Type: A/T with Light Truck construction

Lift: 2 inch lift from Ultimate Suspension

These are my first 4WD tyres on my SR5 which I bought in 2010. Finally I am rid of those pathetic H/T tyres and the difference is amazing. I thought there would be some road noise from these because of the more aggressive tread but there is almost no noise at all and I don't think there is anymore than the H/T tyres.
They have also transformed the look of the Lux. I am still using the SR5 rims, they do what they're supposed to do and I like the look of them anyway.
A fantastic tyre and well worth considering. Nothing bad to report - I have had them for 3 days but there are a lot of good reviews about them.
No photos as yet, sorry.

Cheers

Might be a stupid question but in regards to the tyres which kind are most people using on here-
Light Truck or Passenger type tyre??
Im unsure which one to go for- i do want to go offroading quite often but not exactly sure how much of a difference there is between the two. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help me out.

Depends on how heavy of loads you'll carry. Most people will go light truck so they can get the most out of the vehicle.

Frenchie.
Light truck are the way to go if you plan on doing offroading quite often. The sidewalls are a little stronger which give a slightly harsher ride also you get another 5mm of tread depth with a LT tyre.

BRAND. Mickey Thompson ATZ 5-rib

TYRE SIZE. 265/75r16 (32")

TYPE. All Terrain

SUSPENSION LIFT. 2"

RIM SIZE. Patrol rims 16x8 with +10mm offset

WEAR and PERFORMANCE ON + OFF ROAD. Worst All terrain tyre I have ever used. Noisy in the dry with good grip but deady slippery and out of control in the wet. Almost crashed three times while driving over the weekend while towing a car on a car trailer. Back of the car was jumping out to the sides even with the extra weight over the rear and I have driving very very slowly!!! Wouldn't buy again ever. Havent taken offroad as I have another tyre set for that

BRAND: Mickey thompson

Style: ATZ 4Rib

Size: 265/75/16

Suspension: tough dog 2inch lift

Rims: Kings steelies 16x7

KM to date: 30,000

Preformance: Good for an all terrain, much better the the BFG a/ts i had. Good in the sand and mud, lac a little on the rock but littlbe bit of mumbo fixes it. I very rarely drop pressures when 4x4ing ( the trip i went on up wallaroo was first time ive dropped them off road other then beach) I do drop them up the barringtons and occassionally watagans. Usually to 28psi, Alot of my weekends consist of on and off on and off the gravel so i dont drop them unless up barringtons as above. Also live on a gravel so i dont drop them at all during the week. This has resulted its a fair bit of chipping, only becuase i do abuse them extensivly. Big cut through 1 tyre atm cause i spun the rear on a rusted old star picket  Would cut any tyre. I would recommend them to others.

Wear: pretty even wear tho alot of chipping ( from shear abuse and layziness) about 55%-60%
