For the 2 inch body lift did you have to do things like extending hoses and extending the transfer box lever or was it just simply unbolt fit the spacers and bolt it back up. And what did you do about your bulbar because they don't move do they? Because they're bolted to the chassis.

I've been reading about the offset. Could you guys tell me what you reckon would be the perfect offset for 285s and 305s that would need the least trimming. From what I've read everyone is recommending +10 to +15 for 285s and 0 offset for 305s and if so does this offset stay the same for all sizes like a 32 of the same width.

The more positive ya can get away with the less trimming you'll have but ya get closer to ya uca and sway bar. As for the body lift, get ya self a kit from VMN. They do an awesome kit with everything you need and great instructions! Only hose ya need to extend is the air box to turbo one. Ya bullbar will need to be modified to move up depending on your bar, I built my own bar after I did my lift so it's made to suit. Ya gear sticks will just sit lower in the floor, only thing I had to do there was trim a bit of the floor out under the console to clear the transfer stick. Don't kid ya self it's a big job, not a hard job just a big time consuming job. Grab a vmn kit, a mate, some basic tools, a couple of jacks and you'll be fine. A mate and I knocked mine over on a Sat arvo/nite.

anyone fitted a 33x12.5R17 on the factory FJ cruiser alloys? they're a +15 from memory?

I"ve got 3' lift, Super pro UCAs & BMC.

Hoping for some photos or some experiences. Like the look of the FJ alloys.

I've got some 16x8 +0s on the truck right now, happy to keep them but was hoping i'd get something a bit more positive to clear it a touch more from the body mount.

Read the first 12 pages, Max was recommending the rims, but that was for 285, not 305.

sorry mate, but it'll scrub. I'm currently running 295's (33x12) with FJ rims and they scrub on the uca, chassis and body mount

you'll want a 0 offset or maybe even -12 for that width

is that with the +15 of the FJ alloys?

that's annoying but at least i know before buying a set!

reckon they'd fit with the 16x8s +0? 33x12.5? just love the beefiness of the tyre. Probably a bit too heavy for the hilux I imagine but.

By the reports looks like a 285 will fit, may look into that again.

You SHOULD get away with 305 in 0 offset rims

also depends on tyre brand,,, Km2s are small, im running 305/70/16 on +10 offset with very minimal scrubing but coopers or bighorns in the same size would be rubbing alot more

So still tinkering with the set up of my front suspension to accommodate some 285/75-16 muddies.
I've just had installed Super Pro adjustable UCAs and new Kings KTFR 101 HHD springs fitted.
I requested that installer max out the caster to move the wheel/tyre away from body mount.

According to the Wheel alignment print out:

Caster is now at:
2 deg 44' for Left.
1 deg 56' for Right

Camber is at:
-0 deg 33' Left,
-0 deg 19' Right.

Toe is:
-.2 mm left and right.

So my thoughts were that to Max out caster the Super Pro UCAs would go out to the max pos setting of +4 deg, can anyone confirm this?

Also, I now have a noticeable amount of Negative camber in both sides which can't be good, the Super pro set up diagram shows the offset ball joint at position D which moves the ball joint in towards the centre of the vehicle, this would help to explain something but the ball joints are at different settings form left to right.

Obviously I will talk to the installer for his thoughts on all of this but was hoping someone with Super Pro adjustable UCAs on their Hilux may have some constructive input.

The quoted figures for the Superpro arms will vary depending on how much lift you have. Depending on how much stuff you have screwed on the front, KTFR101HHD may well raise the front more than 2"

Also remember that the extra caster achievable with the Superpro arms is provided by moving the top ball joint REARWARD.
Moving the top ball joint rearward DECREASES clearance, although only slightly compared to an equal movement of the bottom ball joint. So if you max caster adjustment within the Superpro arms, that actually reduces clearance slightly. Moving the bottom ball joint FORWARD with the eccentics on the lower control arm will increase caster AND guard clearance, but It it is not always desirable to max out the adjustment of the eccentics to chase greater clearance.

I would expect normal procedure to be to set the adjustable top plates to the same setting on each side and then fine tune with the eccentrics on the lower control arm. Depending on how straight the vehicle is, it may be necessary to set each top plate at a different angle to get a good result.

.25/.5 degrees of neg camber would not concern me at all. Probably steer better and unlikely to adversely affect tyre wear. A whisker more on the left than the right is also good. If anything, the settings you now have may well reduce shoulder wear, particularly on the LSF

A bit more caster on the left is usual and is also a good thing, provided you don't have too much more on the left. If the vehicle tracks nice and straight and doesn't pull to the left on our usually cambered roads, it will be near enough.

The numbers and plate settings look like there is a good chance that your installer has tried to give you what you asked for

Hey Rory....what off set are you running on your Mickey T's.........I was thinking of getting some 285/75-16 Nitto Trail grapplers for off road and not sure about a 0 offset or a +20......
Thought the 0 may scrub the body mount too much.......and a +20 may scrub on the chassis and sway bar....UCAs should be ok as I've got after market ones....

Richolux I just saw your message. I am running 0 offset and haven't actually played with the alignment yet due to laziness and deciding to SAS it instead. Nitto tyres are a large tyre bigger than the equivalent Mackey T and will probably have had scrubbing issues. +10 maybe a better solution but every at is different so quite hard to say with confidence it will work.
