Change in standard rim sizes for MY14 Hilux.

Does anyone know if the newer SR's have increased the size of the discs and brake calipers? I've a MY14 purchased as new that came with 17" rims as standard. There doesn't seem to be much room between the rim and the caliper. Did they upgrade to the ones used in the Prado?

I had originally planned on downsizing to a 15 or 16" rim as it would be cheaper for tyres in the long run, but I am unsure if I will be able to do this now.

The lower you can go is 16" and some brands only...no way going 15 with bigger calibers

If it came standard with 17" rims then you have the bigger brakes and are very limited in which 16" wheels will fit, 15" won't. There's a couple of threads in the "wheel and Tyre" forum identifying which wheels fit.

It seems I'll have to shop around a bit for 16's, perhaps find some from a Patrol. All my prior Hilux knowledge and experience has been with the pre-facelift models so this was a bit of a surprise when I finally got one.

Those threads helped a lot - much appreciated, cheers mates.
