I'm looking at getting new tires and rims soon, i have a single cab sr hilux with a 40mm old man emu lift under it and arb deluxe bullbar. I wouldnt mind fitting 285x75xr16 on some allied rims, what sort of offset rims would I need to not have it scrubbing too much or minor mods to eliminate scrubbing?

Or is it safer to get 265x75xr16?

Searh button is your best bet mate lots including myself run a 33 . Im runninv a 12inch wide tyre (305) and beleive me, its taken me alot of commitment to make it work its not as easy as throwing it on and taking it up the street. You will know when it rubs under full compression and full lock . If your willing to commit go for it you wont regret it.

ive got a 2005 hilux sr5, has 2" suspension lift and 2" body lift. Currently running Bf Goodrich all terrain 31's(no problems)
Im looking at buying the Bf Goodrich Km2 Mud terrains 285/75/16 , but need help deciding on what rim offset i need?
not sure whether to get 0 or -13 or sumthing so it stays clear of any parts?

I'm running 285/70/17 but it's close. With a +10 offset to help clear the body mount. Any further neg and you'll have issues. Not sure how relative it is to 16's.

or that...rim choice is very limited tho....any rim you see for 4wd's in a 16 will almost certainly come in 0 offset

Ohk, So would a negative offset rims cause it to rub more on the body mounts?

the more negative the offset the further the wheel is pushed out from the hub.

the further the wheel is pushed out from the hub, the larger the turning arc becomes.

the larger the turning arc becomes, the closer the wheel/tyre combo gets to the bodymount/firewall

Upper control arms and custom wheel alignments help gain a little bit more clearance in this area.

at the end of the day its a comprimise between what you want, what you need, and what you think looks good.

if you drive alot on the street and dont compress the suspension fully then you'll be able to get way with a more negative offset.

if your compressing the front end alot and asking alot of the vehicle offroad, a negative offset wont be as forgiving as a zero, +10, offset.

tyre diameter and width play a part too. theres no correct formula, you have to do your research, read up what others are runnign and what they do and try to find what works best for you.

I was thinking of a total kit a lil bit cheaper that's still a decent set as I'm only a apprentice
I found a 4" blinstein kit for $2850 plus deliver is that a good deal or has any1 else found a better deal?
