It's an ARB battery tray, fitted it so I would have something for the fuel filter to mount to...kind of killed two Birds with one stone. Fits perfect. Fuel filter was simple to install. If you would like closer photos let me know.

I was all set to buy a new one but after reading all the reviews I am not so sure as it appears they are slow
and thirsty especially the auto.I think the aftermarket chip makers are going to sell heaps of them.

I found the dealer price was better than what was advertised on the net.
I purchase a new SR5 auto, and took delivery approx 2 weeks ago. So far I have found the vehicle to perform very well and have not found it to be slow. Having said that my previous vehicle was a 150 series Prado. Fuel economy companies more than favorably to the Prado currently averting 8.6 l/100 Kms. The motors is very new so I would expect this to get even better

i have the good old manual 2012 Sr5 (stock standard - 48000km on the clock) and get around 8.3/100 city runs, as i do alot of NBN installs from residence to residence in multiple suburbs. i have say, roughly under 100kg of tooling spaced out in cab and tray.

BUT, wait for it, but i drive it like an old fart, meaning no fast take offs, no warp high speeds down the freeway and do alot of gear shifting to match the terrain (up and down hill etc).

for my lux, i found a sweet economical performance spot when i sit on, say, roughly around 95 - 100 kmph on freeway and say roughly @ 1900 - 2000 rpm

But it quickly ramps up to 9-9.5 / 100 while bashing it through the sand dunes (i dont hold back on the beach)

Have been thinking of adding another filter, I do know though toyota have added a second filter in the common rail pump on both the 2.4 and 2.8l engines

Posted a while back about frustration with bad run was having since the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 fitted to the new SR5.

Dropped it off at another tyre dealer for another alignment and balance today (significant veering to the left, steering wheel off centre and some vibration).

Dealer called me soon after to say they were alarmed on taking the ute for a test drive. Jacked up the ute to find all four tyres badly out of round. Just clocked up 3500km on them.

Questiion.

Does anyone know how to adjust the headlights on the 2016 SR5 hilux, they are set far too wide ...quickly before I find a Toyota rep and beat him to death with the DRLs and the auto headlights.

Not sure if anyone has fit an ARB one, but this is TJM's transmission guard to protect the auto's sump offroad. Yet to fit a front underbody guard yet.

Transmission guard plate is about 3mm thick and it continues from behind the front underbody guard, and bolts onto the first chassis crossmember.
Not as far back as I had hoped, but it will certainly protect the 0.5-1mm sheet metal that is the auto transmission fluid sump.

We're the tyres replaced under warranty, if so are the new ones any better?

Anyone here with the genuine roof racks on the new Hilux? Thinking of grabbing them to fit an awning. Will only be doing some beach driving / camping, would think the clamp on style would be sufficient?

Have heard back from the Bridgestone sales rep; four tyres are being replaced.

There is quite a wait on the replacement Dueler 697's to come in and have been asked to consider something else from the Bridgestone range. Want to stick to all terrains. Anybody know of anything else Bridgestone offer?
