N80 brake upgrade

Hi Guys,

Just completed a brake upgrade using 2015 Prado 150 calipers and rotors. Has to be the cheapest brake job I’ve ever done. The only mod required is to drill the Prado caliper mounts out from 12mm to 14mm. Everything aligned perfectly. Spent $150 on a set of calipers, $410 on a set of DBA T3 slotted rotors and $110 on a set of Ben Dix ultimates plus another $60 on having the holes drilled out by a fitter.

The N80 uses 319mm x 28mm rotors, the Prado uses 338mm x 32mm rotors. Tested is from 120km to dead stop and it saves about 15m over standard brakes. I would suggest a stiffer set of front springs and shocks as the nose really dives under heavy braking.

120 ‘cruiser should fit too if 150’s are that easy. The only difference is 4mm in thickness. The only reason I didn’t fit these to my 2011 is I was told I needed to upgrade the master cyl to run the 150 series calipers. The 2016 on Hilux master cyl must be more suitable.
