Horn sound with lock/unlock

That's an easy solution, assuming you don't lock the door when driving.

If it were run to an additional relay to ensure it would only beep when the car was off, it should be fine. Wouldn't even need to go into the door just identify the correct wire in the pillar

I'm sure there is a circuit that already does this. At least in ours there is. I will investigate further tomorrow, but ours comes with a second horn and a plug. I unplugged mine but I'll see if I can track down the wiring tomorrow.

so when u lock or unlock the truck the power goes to the centeral locking motor in the door, locking or un locking the door.
so if u were to cut in to the remote signal wire that tells the central locking motor to work will then send a short power signal to the horn causing it to beep. (once u have run the wire to make it work)

you would just need to run the wire from the drivers door central locking motor back in to the cab then under the dash through the fire wall the off to the horn.

Lol all these ideas just isn't the same as having the real thing. I like the beep beep the kluger and aurion have. And besides if you did it dodgy like, your doors would probably lock or unlock when you been your horn lol that would be different. Not that I can say I've ever actually beeped my horn.

This works a treat
Single beep lock
Double beep unlock

Two wire installation done and done.

Will not beep when running

Blinker beeper from eBay.

Digging up a super old thread to help others out that may have been thinking about this stuff like I was...

Anyway, I wanted the beep, I also wanted the powered windows without the key in the ignition... I figured I'd try both at once...

I followed this thread for the windows (which work a treat): viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18971

In addition;
I bought a cheap waterproof siren 12/24v from Jaycar (LA-8901) and wired it into the positive door lock pulse (red wire with two grey spots). Gives a sharp beep when the doors are locked.

I mounted it it under the hood (rear passenger side) and it's loud enough to hear inside my house, but not agressively so.

I only did it for locking, as unlocking didn't concern me. I guess wiring in a couple of diodes and splicing the lock/unlock pulse wires together could easily achieve that (I may be wrong, feel free to let me know, I'm just thinking on the fly).

Anyway, just thought I'd finally give something back as this site has been a wealth of knowledge and is always my go to for anything Hilux related.
