Before and after pics, 2007 SR 200k's. EGR valve wasn't too bad so almost didn't pull the manifold, but glad I did because #4 was 90% blocked. ImageImageImage
BTW, I used carby cleaner and the Karcher, then degreaser for final clean.

As in you can't reach? I layed under the vehicle and could reach up through that way for those two small vac lines and two? plugs.

Gents,

Please see two photos of two random pipes under my intake manifold I could not find a home for, If anyone could shed some light on what they are for and where they go I would be very thankful. These would be located midway under the common rail for the one with the pink paint marking but the other one is attached to to Part No 25630 just after the heat exchange.

Please see a couple of photos below on my link to Imghostr -

http://imghostr.net/image/f77n

I have now completed EGR clean and refit everything back, I initially had a couple of leaking Injector lines but once I nipped those up I had have no more leaks. It did take some time for me to get my 3.0 D4D ute started but I think that was from the lines not being full of diesel as once it fired it has not missed a beat since.

I had Engine/Traction light come on for about 15 mins yet once I drove down the road for 15kms it has since disappeared.

Any thoughts on the Engine/Traction Lights?

I have to say I can't see any remarkable change yet, but it has to make a difference though at least in efficiency with the airways partially blocked can't be good for anything other than your mother in law!!!!!

On a separate note I spoke with a chap at one of the Diesel Care locations and he tells me he has Dyno Tuned 3.0 Hilux pre and post egr clean and there was no difference in results....

Cheers

Paul

Sorry for the delay, have spent the last 3 days reading rodw's build thread. I can only see one of your photos, but it looks like it the ones at the bottom of the EGR vacuum thing, just to the left of the oil filterImage
same colour marking?
Can you see where the other end goes, I'll have another look at mine tonight.
Missing hoses would be my first guess at engine light.

Well done and very good info... Does engine carbon cleaning cause the injector clogged?

That's photobucket issue Iceroad. There's a thread about the changes have been made. But enough pics have been reposted to get the job done.

The job seems a bit daunting to begin with but pretty straight forward if you don’t try to rush. When you remove something, leave the bolt with the piece where possible, and take pics like these for the others so you can see what goes where:Image

Don’t forget plenty of gloves for the cleanup.

Not sure why you’d remove the swirl flaps unless your building a racing car? 95% of the time you’re on less that 100% throttle so closed flaps means better port speed at lower revs and higher volumetric efficiency.

Port matching is good for any manifold, reducing dead air areas but I think the D4D’s are pretty good? My manifold and head both matched the gasket so don’t know if there’s much to gain. Maybe more important on the old carby engines where fuel falls out of atomisation too.

Has anyone used the liqui moly de carb spray just wondering what the thoughts are on how well it works and also where to spray it in. Pre turbo or post intercooler?

I’ve used it, pre turbo, after the clean. Figured there’s gunk inside the head I couldn’t reach. Not a substitute for pulling it apart, but good extra step I reckon.
