Cleaning Dash

Hi, How do you get dust and dirt out of the 2007 Hilux dashboard as it is dimply and the dirt gets between the cracks and looks really messy. Why didn't Toyota just make them smooth like the 5th generation Hilux?

Try using a paint brush with soft strong bristles, to brush out the dirt and crap out of the cracks, and either a vacuum cleaner or air gun whilst doing it, to remove the crap!

Then with the dirt that is 'sticky and stuck' that is 'ingrained' get a SOFT bristled brush, like you get with a dustpan & broom, some are really soft, and some dishwashing liquid mixed with warm water in a bucket and start scrubbing. Obviously dont use so much force with the brush that you scuff the vinyl.

Dont get carried away with the water, dip the brush in the bucket, shake, then scrub, have a towel handy to wipe up the dirty suds as you go... repeat until dash is clean, then wipe over with a clean wet cloth, an old toothbrush will get into the panel cracks around the vents etc..... and dont put amorall on it... i hate amorall ;P use maguires if you want to use anything.

I've heard of people using a spray can of foaming cleaner, I'd want to make sure it wasn't caustic to the vinyl before I tried that though.

Whatever you do.. DONT use a high pressure water cleaner. I completely removed my upper dash and used soap to pre-clean the dash. Then i used a high pressure water cleaner to get into the hard to get places. It lifted the paint/colour off. :|

I'm with big red. Just a cloth with a wetter than usual amount of armour all. If still greasy afterwards rub again with a clean dry cloth.
