You get a template to mark out the front mounting screws and the back mounts to existing holes. I use a bit of tube over the drill bit so I don't shove it through the roof :)

I have a 05, no sunglass holder, so you may not even have to drill :)

Mine is SR 07 model and like Brett no fancy stuff like sunnys holder.

If I think all you do is remove the sunvisor screws use the guide supplied drill the front holes and for the rear you use the light screw holes

thats the easy bit I thought, I run the cables for the UHF etc up the pass/side piller. . . . worked a treat. . .

Pickeded the console up today and fitted it. Very straight forward fit and finally something aftermarket that actually fitted.

The consoles are very good quality they have put alot of thought in and it was a breeze to fit

Fitting the radio gave my more grief (i have a Kenwood and they done make an insert the right size)

Has anyone fitted one of these to a SR5 with the side airbags - just wondering if running the wiring up the pillar was a problem due to the airbags?

I have a single cab so where does the rear of the console mount to, as there is no interior light at the back? I was thinking of making my own as the boss wants more room to put her junk somewhere.

Sam, the other one to consider is the Department of Interior one. See my buildup. They make them to order so it is customisable to suit your needs. Mine has a netting pocket which you might like if the boss wants more storage.

Hi Guys! Just picked up my 2011 twin cab SR Lux, and like the look of the Outback console for a GME UHF. I too am curious about running wiring/leads for the radio to the roof with pillars that appear to be full of curtains and air! Has anybody done an install in one of these? Cheers!

There is plenty of room to run cables pull all the interior plastics off and you will see its no big deal.

Hi everyone, I picked up my new 2013 Hilux last week and I'm trying to fit the roof console. All good apart from the gap on both side where the light/sunglass drop down was. 15mm to short leaving a 7+mm gap on each side of the new console.

So, have they sold me the wrong console?
Is there and new console for 2013 Hilux?

Hope all the above as I did a lot of work running air hoses and wire to the roof.

There are two different brackets they supply to fit the console. You need to use the painted grey T type bracket instead of the angle bracket. You then see the grey bracket protrude from the console instead of the gap

I want to make my own roof console using a 'T' design, so it runs from the front to middle of the cab and then across to the sides of the cab just behind the front seats.

How do I mount it? I know that I can use the existing screws for the interior light, but what do i screw into in the roof without going through it as I will need to create new mounting points?

Cheers,

Hey fellas,
Just installed my out back roof console, any of you guys encountered a problem where the lights do not switch off when the doors are closed? Instructions say they should go off on a timer but they dont. I also then popped the fuse. Whered i go wrong?
