Ok guys,

Just confirming, 05 Hilux, fully blocked mine throws no codes.

Yep, can confirm the same. The Euro3 models are less sensitive to blocking the EGR.

Fitted a Chip Tuning EGR delete module to my 07 Hilux start of this year.
Been all good until today.
Didn't notice any performance difference but certainly stopped the majority of the CR diesel knock under light throttle.

While travelling down the southern motorway the 'Lux went into limp mode. Zero throttle response at all!
Managed to get out of the way after causing a bit of traffic delay.
I carry a code reader so was able to pull P0102 MAF meter low and P0405 EGR lift sensor low.
Was able to unplug the Chipit module and return to std to carry on home.

Have emailed and msg'd Chip Tuning about the issue. Will advise of their response....

Edit: Company name is Chip Tuning Australia

Good luck, I think Chipit is no more. Try clean the maf sensor and see if that fixes it. Let us know if you hear from Chipit.

They're still operating. Only bought the module off them in Jan this year.
Robert has been good to deal with so far....

Cleaning MAF did nothing.
Gone back to STD to be able to use the 'Lux for now.

Where are they now? Is Robert in Sydney?

New module on its way apparently.

Have to say response from them was pretty good. Sent them some snapshots of the data list and faults, and they've said they're sending a new module over to me.

EGR blank

I've tried to search but here many different things

2kd engine (2.5), no egr cooler, just the pipe

Is it possible to completely blank the egr? It has a 3 plug sensor on the top of the vacuum actuator?

Hi muddyhilux2020, the short answer is yes - using a blanking plate. If it throws errors, perhaps try a 7mm hole in the plate.

I have a 1kd (3.0) with no egr cooler and it throws no codes with a 7mm hole.

Most of the relevant discussion can be found in this thread.

After a bit of diag and data capturing and bit of RnD, I have a new module.
This has a programming pigtail so we can program as necessary.
Been a good bunch of fellas to deal with at Chip Tuning Australia.

If anyone needs to delete their EGR, this module is the duck nuts!
A 7mm hole in a plate is a complete waste of time. I really don't know why people are still doing it.
A delete module is the only real way to stop the EGR from operating properly.

We do it because it costs next to nothing, works and is completely reversible.

But a total waste of time beacuse gases still get through and block the intake. So.... yeah waste of time. May as well leave it std.

Nah mate, I cleaned mine a couple of times before the plate went in and never after. That was 160,000kms ago. I checked my paypal records and it only cost me $10 delivered.

Standard psychology 101 people defend their choices. If it works for you good for you but how much did the module cost? My 7mm holed plate cost nothing and as far as lots of people's reports tell me it's a good compromise.

Keep us updated about the module but for the moment I'm staying put with a simple solution which is unlikely to be discovered by the fun police. The module may raise some questions if you're having your vehicle inspected.

My last rego inspection the mechanic questioned if my catalitic converter was bypassed because I had an aftermarket exhaust but I told him if he wanted to dismantle the exhaust to check it he was up for the cost of replacing it... No more discussion!

Well no he didn't but I suspect it will be groundhog Day next year.
And yes I think a dpf that isn't there might raise a few questions :?
