Folding back seat mod - For ALL dual cabs

I just tried the russian method, it works well. It took a few tries to get the correct angle but it works perfectly now.

Btw, I did not use a hammer. I used a wrench to slowly bend the clip.

Hey daofoo,
How far off horizontal did you go?

Does this mean I have to weld my little hooks back on.

If perfectly horizontal is 0 degree, then it's about -7 degree.
First, I used an adjustable wrench to bend the clip to about 0 degree (90 degree if referenced against the vertical wall).
Second, tried folding seat back. Didn't work.
Third, bent it a little more to about -7 degree (97 degree if vertical wall is referenced), tried folding seat, and it works!

Its that simple :)

If you keep bending it back and forth it'll probably break. So take it slow. I like this method better than hacking off a part of the seat.

Daofoo, how do you get the seat back "on" to the clip? Do you just lift up the bottom of the seat and push the top backwards as you lower it?
Insert witty comment here

Yes. It the same as video at the start of this thread. Lift the bottom of the seat, as you lift the bottom of the seat the back cushion will lift a little. Apply some pressure on the back cushsion as you lift the bottom cushsion. at some point the back cushion will catch the clip.

yeah.. ok.. not for me.. by bending the metal you are weakening it.. and possibly fracturing welds leading to the potential for failure..

When you lift the bottom section, the rear section actually goes up a little before it goes down.

Lol, there is no need to do both.

I've cut mine as bending welded metal weakens the structure of it, and there is still over half an inch of solid steel behind the bracket if cut correctly.
