I just found this product that will automatically mute your car audio system and run your CB or GPS through it.

I remember a few forum members asking about this sort of ting some time back
Reasonable price and from Victoria, don't know any more about it though

Nice, its a shame the standard headhunit didnt have the mute wire option.
