Grinding noise when coming to a stop

Gday fellas,

My 07 SR 3.0 turbo diesel hilux is making what sounds like a grinding sound when coming to a stop. It only makes this noise right before I come to a stop, not during the majority of braking. I took off my front wheels and checked the brake pads and they look ok from what I can tell? There appears to be a deep scratch in one rotor. Have attached pictures. I noticed a ball joint has a bit of play in it on one wheel so will replace that but I don’t think that’s causing the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Louis.

Hi
Pull the pads and look for a stone or a peace of metal in the pad and your disc looks glazed.

Have seen mechanics clamp the hose one side at a time to find the side it is coming from. If you do make sure it is a suitable clamp that wont damage the hose and dont drive on the road like this or at any speed more thad walking pace.
