Looks like mould but surely not ? Try a bit of mould kill and if that doesn't get it off then it must be corrosion in a funny tone.

Its not rough at the moment but yeah i think its starting to deteriorate. My mrs honda did a similar thing and have all perished but her car is 10 years old and mine is only 3. I will see if i can clean it up with mould kill. Where did you get yours from

I've tried everything I can think of, terps, metho, polish of all kinds, admiral, window cleaner. Nothing seems to,work.
After 3yrs swapped them with a newer car but they are doing it as well

If it is mould try some bleach on it, if it goes, then it is mould. Bleach won't hurt the rubber just go easy on the paint.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

I have this too. Mine is a 2011 face lift. Poor quality rubber is what that is. Shouldn't been doing it at my cars age let alone 3 years. Sad.

That's how mine looked not long before it fully split down the length of it. Happened maybe 1.5yr ago 2007 model.
