ARB Under Bonnet Air Compressor Bracket

ARB Under Bonnet Air Compressor Bracket

Postby Spitfia on Mon, 17 Oct 2016 11:53 +0000

I am about to mount up an ARB single compressor under my bonnet

Anyone used one of these? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-HILUX-AIR-COMPRESSOR-BRACKET-FOR-ALL-KUN26-MODELS-/181651052443

Are they any good for the $$$ or would it be just as good to bolt it straight to the guard

Im wondering how close to the fire wall they are mounted and how the bottom support is bolted on, I assume it is bolted through the underside of the guard into the rivnut installed on the bracket just not sure if it uses a factory hole or drilling is required

Cheers

I'm no expert in the matter, but that seems pretty expensive for a bracket!

First time I've seen them, but considering how the compressor vibrates when running, I'd personally want a little more clearance from the ABS lines.

Looks a little expensive and very close to everything. Would be noisy as hell if ya had it runnig whilst driving.

Thanks folks I have no ABS so space isn't an issue was thinking on a bracket like that it will help keep it out of the water through river crossings and such

I might just end up bolting it onto the wheel arch unless anyone has a better idea?

I have mine bolted to the wheel arch but on the other side where a second battery usually goes. I just put some spacers under it to make a level surface to bolt to.

Hey Mate,

I've got one mounted in my lux, its a tight fit but once you rotate the small tank with the locker outlets its good to go.
Vibration is not really a problem as it is under the bonnet and therefore not that noisy. ATM I still need to pop the bonnet to use it but I will be piping it to the front and rear bars for ease of access.

Have a look at my shed for pictures of it fitted.

Hope that helps

Thanks mate... I bit the bullet the other day and just rivnuted it to the wheel arch (no ABS so heaps of room) with some rubber feet under each bolt for vibration... it does the trick
