Essential mods from factory?

G'day boys,

Waiting at the moment to take delivery of my new SR5 from the dealer. I'm just chasing some info on mods for the car.

Can anyone recommend a place to get a second fuel filter fitted for a reasonable price?

When I was car shopping I noticed a few of the ex-mine vehicles I looked at had the under side of the car coated with some sort of black protective layer. From what I was able to find out, this stuff helps protect the underside of the car from stone chips, rust etc and helps with reducing noise when traveling along gravel roads. But I can't for the life of me find out what it's called and where I can get it out on my car?

Also are there any other of these type of protective mods you guys think I should be doing to my car as soon as I get it? I'm obviously just trying to prevent myself from having issues down the line where I can.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I'm located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.

First thing I done to my SR5 was Rhino Lining in the tray. Very expensive, $800 for a dual cab, but it is worth it's weight in gold.

Ex mine cars, stay away! They have major rust issues due to the minerals in the ground, and water, and I have seen 2 year old Landcrusiers go for $5000!!! Due to twisted chassis and any number of mechanical issues.

That black protective stuff is there to hide problems. Look at any second hand car from Western Sydney back in the day on "cut n shut" repairs, it hid the welds.

Have you seen any of the paint protection products? The one my local dealer users is called duracell I think. Never have to hand wash the vehicle. Just water blast it clean. Nothing sticks to it. There's one for the seats too. Makes them almost water proof.

I got offered the paint protection Through the dealer but I decided against it.

I'm struggling to find out the name of this coating they put on the bottom of the car to protect the underside.

Whilst the name of the underside coating escapes me right now, it is a thick tar based product. Used as a sound deadening product.

Body Deadener, you can buy it in brush on or spray on. The spray on gives a factory look finish.
