Blinker recall..

I recently had the Hilux back for the Hazard light recall and during the week towed the trailer for the first time and guess what..after being on for a few minutes the hazard lights stopped working..is it just mine?..and feedback would be great.

I have also had the recall done and had no problems since (even with trailer). In the recall they retro fit another flasher unit just near the battery in a little black box it contains a single fuse and 2 flasher units. Has the fuse in there blown?

I had no problems before the recall and none after either. Just lucky I guess.

I had the ARB bullbar wiring upgrade put in, I have absoultely no trouble with it at all it now. The relays make alot more noise than the std one. If you are having trouble with trailer lights it is worthwhile upgrading the trailer to LED lights. My excavator trailer has LED''s and there has never been a blown bulb and they can also cope with 24Volt being put through them as well which is handy as the 24Volt truck can tow the trailer as the 12Volt Hilux or std car. Without voltage issues with light bulbs.
Cheers

If you have LEDs in your trailer, you should not need the upgrade. however, if you have a toyota bar, it costs nothing. The Flashers you describe Toybota should in fact be relays. I am not aware of any fuses in them, but dont quote me on that. Check your fuse in the normal place. do your hazards work without the trailer? Might just be a bad earth. Get the dealership to check it out if you can.. Cheers TOMUCH

Yes tomuch you are correct they in fact relays, I was going to post a picture but had a few problems. Anyway there is a small 15amp fuse I think from memory so make sure when Toyota do the job that you can get to it . The box should mount where your second battery is (if you have one) according to the recall. Toyota buried mine as the second battery was in the way so i made a bracket arrangement of the second battery tray so it could be accessed with ease. I will post some pics when i get it sorted.
