I am finding that a lot of snorkel installers are using the building type silicone sealers.
This will coat the hot wires and give you a false reading. The gas as it dries out.
So, consumers beware of this and make sure they use an auto sealant when they fit your snorkel.

Very true John, you/they need to use Sensor Safe sealant, otherwise your up for new sensors or a poor running machine. Nice pick up. :D
Cheers Rod

If you are talking diagnostics, well, the range for the MAF sensor should be 5 to 12 gms. This is at normal idle and not cold start.
Ye, sometimes I just can't spread myself around, when I get busy.
My customer vehicles must come first.
Yes, you can get the hot wires clean from that gas coating, with a good MAF sensor cleaner.
This is, most of the time. CRC is the brand that I use.
Catch you later, John.

I can confirm this sensor is the same for the 2.7 gas engine as well. Does anyone know what size the O ring needs to be? Mine broke when I lasted cleaned the sensor and I temporarily held it in place with sensor safe silicone :(

On the air filter housing 2 screws 1 plug.
Don't touch it.
Maf sensor cleaner only.

cleaned my MAFsensor and my MAP Filter today, nothing to mention regarding the MAF sensor after cleaning but plenty of gunk came out of the Filter.

mine ticked over 100,000kms just after cleaning it today and can notice a slight improvment in the utes desire to get up and moving.

are these parts ment to be replaced after a certain time period or just when cracked or faulty?

Apparently Toyota don't change fuel filters at scheduled services
I changed mine yesterday and removed the filter housing to clean the jellyfish out of it
Swear to god I gained 20 horsepower
