If it's got VSC/TC/ABS and 17" wheels as standard, which is probable with a Nov 2013 build, you should have it.

Look under the front at the diff housing for a grey plastic box. Shine a light through the gap in the LHS of the open glove box and look for the green plug in the control module. Picture of the green plug and its whereabouts have been very helpfully posted in this thread by Batman.

for those of you wondering if the 2014 sr hilux has add. well it does. mine is designated as a kun26r, my2012, built dec.2013, with a compliance plate fitted jan 2014. I have been under the vehicle and the add module is attached to the right side of the front diff and has a sticker fitted saying "add oil only" . there is a wiring harness coming of the module going up into the engine bay. I pulled the glovebox and the green plug is there on the upper left side of the electrical module behind the glovebox. the brake system was upgraded from November 2013 and I would guess the disconnect was installed at that time. the november/december built sr is in effect a 2014 model, I am unable to detect any difference between these and a 2014 build. cheers.

Exactly !!

I think I noticed 2014 models, with all the 2014 updates, at dealers in Nov 2013, which would mean that builds of our 2014 model would have started in Oct 2013, possibly Sept 2013.

yeah possibly. but the upgraded brakes in the sr only started in November 2013, so it could have been November 2013. I think it was in the handbook I read that the upgraded brakes applied to vehicles built after 13/11/13.

Park it up in 2wd. Climb under. If you can spin the front propshaft you have add.

I'm considering buying a 2014 SR. Deciding factor would be ADD. Strikes me as being bit strange that even BH is sceptical of SR having ADD... I've searched Toyota website specifications but no mention of SR ADD :?
Can anyone confirm that these new SRs with ADD are not just a special mine spec over-order and that all SR models now come with ADD standard? (No - I dont have a decent dealership to run down to and have a look for myself ;) )

I also looked into it and yea there are sr's out there with add's. This is because of traction control. So if you want a sr with an add! you need to order or get a sr with Trac control.

Superb! That's that one sorted
Thanks BH :)
Edit: Wait a minute - you can get an SR without TC? Thought TC comes standard for ANCAP rating

pretty sure it is now standard (2014 models)

Toyota website certainly lists it on double cab SR's

has anyone pulled the control module apart, the one on the front diff? would love to know how to lock or unlock this thing manually in the event that it failed in adverse circumstances. is there a lever or something which is electrically operated which can be accessed and moved manually in an emergency to get out of trouble if the electrics fail?

Yeah I read your post but wanted to confirm yours wasnt an over stock from a mine special order. A bit doubtful at the best of times - let alone if a statement of confirmation is qualified by "well it does"
Good to have your account verified by other members in any case. Thanks mate.

You might have already come across this thread regarding pulling the ADD module apart:

BTW - No one picked up on the ADD 4X2 oxymoron?.... ;)

Nope not game yet waiting for some definitive answer, then it will be all systems go (or as the case may be not activate)

Have put the switch in the dash, run the wires down to the front axle, but waiting for that definitive answer.

PS I have already spoken to Sci Fleet Toyota, Kedron auto electrics and Opposite lock and no one has been able to come up with the correct process.

Mine is a May build 2014 SR and has the traction control

Coyote - No need to run wires to the diff. It can all be very easily done nice and tidy behind the dashboard. All details are in this thread, as are very helpful pics. courtesy of Batman :D .

Dino - That sounds like a very complicated way to address an unlikely problem :) Making sure it's all waterproof after you're is done is also an issue.

I think I would simply pull off the front tailshaft.
