at the time I bought the cheapest I could find. Cost me $44.95, but they're now $59.95. description: Stebel Nautilus Black Car 2 Tone Air Horn Kit 12v 139dB (120858611322)
didn't come with any wiring etc, just the bare horn. Also its's not water proof

Just a question about the air horns. The kits with the small compressors how do they work? Will the compressor run all the time or only if the horn is pressed? How long will it take to actually make the sound?
Also a lot of the air horns actually are the same or less DB than the Stebel Nautilus, so are there the same loudness or are the measured differently?

the compressor is on demand. sometimes there is a small delay in operation, maybe 1/4 of a second ie. not much
if you use the horn often, there should not be a noticeable delay

mine has a seperate circuit ie. power off the battery, using a relay triggered by the existing horn

x 2...
my 2012 SR had an extra horn plug on the opposite side of the center support, so I plugged directly into that, ran a fused wire (+) to the battery and earthed to a bolt on the support. Kept the original horn as well.

my SR5 came with 2 small horns. thought they were pretty good until I got the Stebel
unfortunately my Stebel is showing signs of serious abuse (still works, but not as loud as it once was). I blame the PDR

Where are people mounting their stebels? I'm at the front of car with my horn in my hand and I don't know where to stick it
