No there is no simple way to do it. Why do you want to turn them off?

i take it you got the sr5 with the dark tinted instrument panel, without this back light you will not see it to well that is why it is on all the time, sr is clear and does not turn on all the time.

Is there a dedicated fuse for the dash lights you could remove or wire a switch into the feed?

Try removing the gauge fuse. You will lose the lot, gauges included but I guess it won't matter as you don't want to see them anyway

Thanks for the replies , yes fitting a switch from the feed wire to the instuments, would work just fine ,I got a bit wrapped up in the dimmer switch solution , so any help with the location and colour of the instument, feed wire would be just great .Then i think i will run the wires down to the right hand switch pannel and install the switch there thanks again. Nick.
