I replaced my clock spring yesterday to find it didnt remove the airbag light, this is the 4th clockspring now,but every other new clockspring ive fitted has removed the light at least for some time.

looks like ive got a problem else where.................

   if I did at least i would know where to start looking.
Could be either the airbag itself or the impact sensor or a broken wire..........mmmmmmmmm where to start

I think sometimes might need a scan tool to clear the fault code ?

My airbag light came on a couple of weeks ago, hilux is 05 and has 220 000km on it, took it to Toyota they checked and said it was clock spring and put in a claim for me, but got turned down cause of age( needs to be less then 7 yrs and 200k km).
I have found some clock springs on eBay but not sure if you need a certain one if you have factory cruise control? Does anyone now if its the same one or not?

Cheers Darren

guys
Ive had 3 of the ebay ones fail on me all different lengths of time, and differnt sellers.
Either i was very unlucky or i have other intermittent sensor problems, but each clock spring failed in different ways,Ive now decided i would only fit a genuine clock spring in the future,(I know the sellers say they come in a toyota box) but they are differnt to my original toyota assembly,no question.
In the mean time ive temporarily fixed mine with black tape over the light.... :D

I emailed the seller of the airbag clock spring and he said it would suit my hilux with cruise control, so it's all in and working now, pretty easy to replace, haven't tried cruise control yet but there was a plug on the top of the clock spring for it.
A lot cheaper then $600+ at Toyota.

Cheers Darren

Cruise control does work, it's great not to see that airbag light.

I've still got the same ebay one that I installed in Sep 2010 and had no drama's with it.

The link to the ebay site still works. You'll find it in my post on the first page of this thread.
