hmm problem with that is that it needs to be installed via activesync .. and it requires .NET to be installed. Im still to get around to doing more activesync tests, im sure there will be a way, just a matter of working it out..

those are definately nifty units though.. Im going to send them an email to discuss their software and see if they'll send me a copy..

Cheers

I have no idea what all the different maps and programs are that everyone is putting into this device so what I want to know is if I buy one and install it will I have to download maps to just find my way around a city? or will it have the same capability as my TomTom one has out of the box. Can I just put it in the car and not have to do anything to it?

Are you guys getting them all off fleabay, or do you have a direct contact for them. They don't seem to be selling any "toyota" modules at the moment.

Steve9R, any more feedback on the V2, and do you know when/if it's coming out officially?

cheers

Dute, the V2 model is still in its infancy and he is sourcing it from an alternate manufacturer to the tried and tested V1. He is keen to get a few out in the marketplace to see how they go so thought that I would have a punt and try one.

They are a bit dearer than the V1 but have some more features that Steve is better to explain. In fairness to Matt I would prefer not to publish any prices here yet until I talk with him again, but will say the prices are very reasonable compared to the alternatives available.

simple to fit, and allows me to now listen to radio with the aerial down or only slightly up instead of having to have it fully extended..

G'day turbodiesel. I picked up one of the V1 units after reading the reviews on Prado point. I can't rave about it enough! However if you are going to buy one make sure it is from Matt at digioptions. My brother brought one of the Honk Kong versions, thinking it was the same thing. Not quite as good.
Hold out a little while longer... you'll be glad you did!
