Was that the early mark I model by any chance?

I had the exact same problems, first I sent it back and they repaired it, didnt fully sort it then they sent me a spare disc drive and asked me to install it myself ... that didnt work eventually they send me a replacement mark II unit and that did the trick.

The mark I unit was horrible but the mark II and III (with DVB) seem to be allright.

Cheers.

I had trouble getting a response here with my screen issues too. I sent him an email though and got a fairly prompt reply. I did need to send the unit back to him and my screen was replaced under warranty. The warranty claim also went through fairly quickly.

Not sure if you've already tried his email, if so, please disregard the above comment.

Good luck,
Hendo

Hi Guys

Thought i'd add my opinions.
- The unit is very easy to install and looks great in the dash. The wire harness makes it very easy. I pulled out the info / clock and put the GPS antenna behind that between the vent ducts and the underside of the dash. Bit of double sided tape and a tight fit and its solid as, and works with no probs at all.

Goods
- Looks
- Installation
- The igo maps and GPS software is great and the maps are very good. This software is a lot more polished and better looking than the rest of it
- The BT phone and audio streaming works well
- Price

Bads
- The ipod software is still crappy. As soon as you plug iphone in it starts playing the first song. The menus are slow and hard to use. I use BT streaming as its much easier to change songs on the phone
- Unless someone can tell me otherwise cant listen to the radio and have the GPS running at the same time. Major -- for me. I want to look at the GPS and listen to the radio.
- The radio reception is not very good, gets static fuzz easily in areas the orignal never did.
- The ipod cable only pretends to charge my iphone 3g it shows on the phone its charging but doesn't get any juice.
- The GPS doesnt keep itself on in the background for a short time like most Navmans etc, so stop and get fuel and its got to start up all over agian.

Minors
- The big blue radio screen looks pretty crappy.
- No sub rca out

Just my opinions, but once again, you get what u pay for.

Simon

Hi guys

New member here also.

I've had this unit installed in my hilux for the past two years.

Sound quality is good, better that the original unit in my opinion.

Tazziefez ~ hold down the "Band" button to play music and have navigation running at the same time.

I also think Digi Options has a newer version head unit that screens res is 800 x 600 and running a better winCE OS.

Regards

Paul

Hi all,

Has anyone found a way to stop the muting of the radio when the GPS has something to say??? or is everyone just living with it?? I think I may have found a way to make it mute for a shorter time, but i'm still testing it.

Also, when your phone is connected via bluetooth (iPhone) does anyone get an audible sound when a text message comes in???

Regards

got one of these heatunits in my car based on comments on another forum, sad to say that i will probably be ripping it out. the headunit DOES NOT keep memory of my ipod and iphone songs.

it keeps playing the first track from the beginning every time it's powered on. very frustrating especially listening to an album or an ebook. OEM headunits can do this so it's quite a deal breaker especially since my ipod has thousands of songs but i keep hearing the same first 10 everytime on short drives.

Hi Slip, we just made a video of this. Excuse the wrong angle as we just wanted to get it up. This is testing with an iPhone 4, we have also successfully tested with an 8GB 5th Gen Nano and the result is the same. Some ipods may reset due to licensing issues which we need to check. Feel free to email us at digoptions@gmail.com in the first instance as we often don't check forums as regularly as we should so you may wait longer for a solution (as opposed to emailing us direct).

Just thought I'd ask how people are finding the newer dig options units? For the prices they seem like a pretty good deal.. What's the digital tv reception like? I wouldn't mind watching stuff on the way to work of a morning lol

Hi Thomo55, our current HD DVB-T with Dolby works well but does depend on the area of course. We have developed the first on the market 4-Tuner DVB-T which we will launch in Jan '14.

Get a piece of matt black thermoplastic sheet from the local plastic centre and bend up a sunscreen using a heat gun. I have just used self adhesive Velcro to hold mine in place. Looks as good as the GPS screens they sell on Ebay but only cost a couple of dollars.
