Folding back seat mod - For ALL dual cabs

It's all in the previous 15 pages  . Remove the plastic covers from the hinges. Undo the 4 bolts(2 each side, using 12mm spanner/socket). Release the base of the seat as if to lift up, raise slightly & stick a rag over the catch under the base so it won't latch back up, & let rest on rag. Push the back of the seat at the top corners toward the rear of the tray as you lift the seat base up. If you do this at each end (1 side at a time) you can do it by yourself easier. You need to push it backwards to clear the tip on the hook. (This is there to prevent the seat from popping forward if involved in accident which would allow the back to collapse if say a baby capsule strap was pulling on it.See previous 15 pages!). Slide seat out & cut as per instructions. Does this help?

Job done! S Cheap netting, max trax and more packed in there. Found the hooks had already been shortened about an inch, but still went to 42mm. Also found 4 x 1" from the old police wiring, which got a dose of dynamat. What a difference sound wise too!

Cheers Steve!

Sweet thanks mate, looks good as.

How well does it fit, would there be room to add cargo netting or anything in front of that? Or is it almost flush against the back of the seat? Looks like more room behind there than I thought.
Cheers,
Jay

That's a tight fit...I needed to make the box as big as possible for MAXIMUM BASS! LOL

I like the rod idea.

Haha, wonder if I could get away with a smaller box.. trying to figure out how to have best of both worlds.

Jay

If you have a big sub box, it would be harder to get to the little compartments under the seats yes? (where the jack is etc) as the folding mechanism would be more restrictive?

I've been thinking about putting a sub and storing a snatch strap and the like behind the seat, haven't really had much of a look at how to detach the upright of the back seat- how is this done?

Pretty easily - lift the bottom half of the seat up to access back seats bolts, and unscrew them. Then lift the back seat off. Once the seats unbolted you can maneuver the seats hooks off the little brackets it has while lifting the whole seat up.
Cheers,
Jay
