Steve,

I've replied your PM.

Shoot me an email. I've provided my email address in my PM.

Good idea crossport.

Can someone measure their Hilux air con filter and post it up?
I'm having connection issue with my ISP so it's been a nightmare trying to log in for the past few days.

I vaguely remember reading at pradopoint that it's a different type of filter though.

However if it's the same as the Prado then it will help members whose Hilux do not have air-con filter fitted yet and at a cheaper price.

Thought that you guys might be interested in this nifty product.

My cousin got it for me. It's sits on the dashboard and when exposed to sunlight it removes all the smells from the car such as cigarette, wet carpet, food etc.

Works great and must be exposed to sunlight in order for it to work.

Do a google search on it.

Steve is asking me to get the filter & cover for him. Thought that other members might also be interested.

But let's see if the Prado 120 series air con filters fit our Hilux.

The prices that my mate can offer is:

Cover - AUD$8.00
Filter - AUD$28.00

This is based on the Aussie exchange rate of AUD$1.00 to RM2.80 Malaysian currency.

Filter & cover does not have any box besides the plastic wrapping. I would have to get a box for the filters since it's so flimsy.

Air parcel rates is approximately between AUD$12 for 500grams to AUD$15 for 1000grams/1kg.

I reckon it would be cheaper if there is a group buy for the filters/cover since you could save on the freight rate. However, it would have to be sent to one address only in OZ.

Time for me to pay Mark @Skog the money I owe him for the Lightforce filter he sent me.

Checked with one of my old parts suppliers who also used to work for Toyota for many years,
He gave me a genuine Toyota part number for a Camry/Aurion and said try this, apparently they fit and cost about $30. I then cross refernced with ryco and here is the ryco part number:
RCA 164P. Worth a small outlay to find out if the same and if so then we can all save greatly on the genuine hilux unit.
Cheers
Shane

Here is the link to what the Prado owners are doing. The Prados come with the filter holder, but sometimes no filter :?: :?:

They look same, but havent measured to check yet

Some info here about after market filters and home made ones too

Ryco filter arrived today.
Mr research and development here has had a win. Put your dollars back in your pockets guys and forget genuine filter from now on.
If anything the ryco one actually looks better quality aswell.
So part number is: RCA164P cost me trade $22.04
Heres a pic for comparison, My genuine one had done 12000km only.
Fitted my ryco one and all good. 8-) 8-) 8-)
