EN-able seat belt beeper

Postby HiluxSamana on Wed, 18 Jun 2014 5:53 +0000

Hello, i want to ENABLE the seat belt beeper in my hilux 2014. 3.0. I tried to do with the odo and the 20 seconds but it does not work.
Is the 2014 model any different.

Assume that you must of disabled it before?
If you can't recall the process another option is to disconnect the battery to clear the setting and will default back to being on when you connect back up

I think the general rule of thumb is leave it disconnected for around 30 minutes or so.

Radio may be protected with a code ... if so, it will usually be the last 4, 5, or 6 digits of your VIN.

Disconnect the battery and turn on your headlights to drain any power for 30 seconds then connect it back up and away you go.
This will also clear a fault code if you dont have a scanguage

I have an MY14 and the process is exactly the same as previous models. You hold the odo button for 12 secs not 20 so thats probably the problem to begin with.

Silly question but why would anyone want to turn the beeper back on?

2014 works with odo method. Did one the other day for a mate.

Only reason I can think to enable it is if you have an annoying mate that wont wear his seatbelt.

i was thinking this. i wanted to kill it with fire.

I often take belt off when offroad or manouvering around (obviously low speed stuff, track work, recoveries / bogs etc).

end up cut to crap otherwise not to mention hassle getting in and out.

i had my car at the dealer to have them disable the seatbelt warning for me. but i disconnected the battery here a few days ago (tryning to figure out my Cruisecontrol retrofit thing) and the darn thing came back on :/

hold the ODO button for 12secs? :)
