The Gide lines comes on by a 1.2k ohm resister in the earth line of the camera wiring. A far bit of mucking around to get to happen. Some work some don't. Resistor value may be more or less. But does work

just to clarify, you stated earlier that the 2014 head unit is a software update? As I have the 2014 head unit.

It was to solve a gps drop out issue. If you require it your service department will advise you of it.
