Transporting extra cab tub? How?

Transporting extra cab tub? How?

Postby SR5Hilux4x4 on Tue, 29 Oct 2013 8:19 +0000

Hey guys,
Just wondering what the best way to transport a tub home from sydney would be, obviously on a trailer but what kind of trailer? Will a box trailer do with maybe some pieces of timber across rve top and strap it down upside down?
What have other people done?

stand it up on the headboard works best
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

I've picked one up with a trailer with timbers across it, just like you said.

Works fine, a little bit of a pain to lift the tub on and off the trailer.

I thought it might be awkward. Probably not as bad as lifting onto the tray of a 4wd ute being alot higher. Will two blokes lift an extra cab tub?

Yeah you might be able to get away with two, three would be better though. They weigh more than you think and it's easy to damage a bottom corner on the tub.

Loosey picked one up which I loaded onto a couple of pallets on a box trailer for him. Looked a little flimsy so not sure if he made it home or not. Has anyone seen Loosey lately? :?

You've probably already done it, but….I transported a tub for my dual cab back from Sydney to Newcastle by turning it upside down and plonking it on my existing tub, with the headboard hanging over and outside the tailgate. Tied it down with a few ratchet straps.
Regards Chris.
