Canopy Vent

Hi All,

I am looking to get a vent for my EGR Canopy and was seeking some help. I want the vent to provide positive pressure to prevent dirt/water coming in through the tailgate, and also to provide air for a dog sometimes.

I was looking at the EGR vent (same as ARB I believe), but surely rain/dust would come straight in?

I also saw the Muller Vent but that's negative pressure. And also boat vents like the Dorade vent, but I think that's negative pressure also....

Are there any other options?

When I bought mine it already had 2 "whirly birds" on the canopy. It still got dust into the tub, but living on dirt roads it's almost impossible to completely eliminate ALL dust ingress. It wasn't TOOoo bad. I can't be certain, but I suspect they provided positive pressure, but I also don't think the pressure was high enough to eliminate all dust ingress.

I believe the whirlybird vents also provide negative pressure?

I have a ARB vent just close it when it rains and sealed up the tallgate sides with some alto rubber from Clark rubber and same stick on sponge rubber on the bottom and it works for me.

But if you have the dog in the back when its raining and the vent closed, he wont get much air?

If you are trying to dust proof your canopy don't forget under the 4 corners on the top lip the gaps lead to under the tub
The kids might have same fun riding in the tub if it wasn't illegal.
I don't have that much room with drawers and fridges in there

I optioned the vent on my 2016 Toyota OEM (EGR) canopy and it's worked fine.

You have to decide when to open & close it, but even when you forget I've never had anything to worry about either dust or water.

I also had the optional canopy Dust Defence Kit fitted and it's been great, the inside the canopy stays very clean. Day to day dust in the cab from opening & closing doors, inadvertent widow open at the wrong time etc is much worse.
