Recovery points with factory nudge bar

Recovery points with factory nudge bar

Postby EXPLX4 on Tue, 07 Apr 2020 7:43 +0000

Hi All,

I have a factory nudge bar fitted to my 2018 SR5. I am looking to fit a set of front recovery points as added security. I don't plan on fitting a winch and bar. Most of my trips are in areas where there is little to winch off and with more than one vehicle so snatch / tow recovery or maxtrax have got me out so far.

Using a bit of google Fu shows that it is possible to fit the Ironman ones but this didn’t really give much detail about fitting. can the supplied bolts still be used or did I needed to order longer bolts of the same grade.

If anyone has fitted these with a factory nudge bar let me know the tops/tricks.

Cheers
JH

ARB Recovery Point.

I have one on my 2012 SR5, about the $250 ish mark from memory for my car.

Less than an hour to install, then your on your way.

Did it bolt up with the factory nudge bar in place? all the info I can find is without a nudge bar fitted.

I don't have anything on the front of my SR5, all i had to do was cut a hole in the paper think stone guard, and it come with all the templates and bit of paper you need.

I would _assume_ the nudge bar would not cause any issues as it is more to the front of the car, whereas the recovery point is back underneath the car, but don't hold me to that

No worries, the factory nudge bar mounts up along the chassis rail in what looks to be the same mounting holes as would be used for the recovery. Might just order a set and see if I can get them to work
