2 aerials

2 aerials

Postby NebulaLux5 on Sun, 15 Oct 2017 8:16 +0000

G'day all!

I have a GME TX3350 in my car and I was wondering if I could have a dual aerial setup for a big one and a small stubby one so I don't always have to get out of the car and change aerials over if I needed to. Or would having a dual aerial setup do no good for me and be more of a pain in the rear?

Cheers guys

I dont get the point.
I think you want to have the stubby one while driving through bushes an lower passages and the tall one while driving open fields to cover more distances.
So, in this case, you will have to get out of the car for dismounting the tall one, either.

If your changing aerials a lot maybe it is worth it. You’ll want something like this: http://www.prestigecom.net.au/uhf-cb-ac ... -splitters

Are you trying to avoid getting out of the car completely? Otherwise, I have the RFI Q-Fit system which does well (in terms of interchangeability).

The spring is stays mounted to your bullbar and the aerial(s) themselves are screw-on, screw-off. Less than a minute to change. But, this still does require you to leave the vehicle

I've got the middle one on this page for my dual setup. Works ok - I mounted with cable ties under the passenger panel under the glove box so I can flick it inside the car. Have to stop to do it though as its a stretch for me!
