Rear bar protection for dual cab with OEM towbar

Rear bar protection for dual cab with OEM towbar

Postby chevaps on Mon, 31 Jul 2017 4:19 +0000

Hey all.

Can anyone point me to a rear protection bar for a dual cab that works with the OEM towbar?

I'm looking at protecting the rear tub panel work, but don't want to simply bin the towbar that came with the car.

Cheers.

Phatbars dont do them for the N80. Thou I did get them to make me aine off custom rearprotection bar setup utilising an N70 factory toyota towbar crossbar that came up mint and provides awesome protection and great departure angles.

Show us your rear bars?

The TJM one looks like the best rear protection.

Phatbars and Ironman have a similar design.

The MCC one looks alright but leaves the rear vulnerable.

Sell your OEM bar and put the money towards a rear bar ;)

It has already crossed my mind....

But here-in lies the problem.... I'm pretty sure all Hiluxes come standard with a towbar now, so, who would i sell it to? Hence my comment about binning the OEM bar.

ARB Summit Raw Bar is available in 2 options

With or without factory OE Towbar.

Anyone who had the ARB rear bar for the 5-15 Hilux will see some similarities to the old design.

I have the ARB Summit Raw Bar with factory tow-bar, had the number plate surround panels colour coded and it looks great! Also gets all your plugs and wiring safely tucked up out of sight and harms way.

Easy to fit yourself just make sure before you do that you have a few spare Toyota tow-bar shims handy...
