Pro Roof Rack

Pro Roof Rack

Postby Daggles on Sun, 18 Jun 2017 10:49 +0000

Quick question. I want to fit Pro Roof racks. Do I have to use the door clips or is there a way to bolt directly to rook like a 100 series etc?

They can be secured directly to the roof.....but you have to drill holes in the channelling. Instructions have all the info. Also google the roof rack site, the different style of fitting will be on their site.
Make sure you know what you're doing.....else you'll likely have holes where you don't want them.

i brought the Rhino RLT500 Heavy Duty Racks to be honest these are very strong

They mounts where them black strips are on your car, the instructions tell you where to cut it extra

Usually you measure the channels that come with the rack kit
then measure your roof factory channel plastic strips, you want to make it so you have even amout of plastic on each end

as the plastic strip is around 1200m and the channel is like 800mm there abouts anyway

Does anyone know where you can purchase new black strips for your roof?

I think one end of the strip is not re-usable, as when I removed to fit my rhino rack rails to roof it gave clear instructions to not remove fully... the rear I think.

Hence suggest Toyota may be best, that's what I'd do on a new Gen8 anyway.. surely wouldn't cost too much.

The ends are reusable, but you have to be gentle to not break the clips
You can just urethane them back on if you do break the clips
If your not prepared to stand behind our Troops
Then try standing in front of them
