True words! I have a fan on mine and you can feel the difference when ya turn the fan on after 10-15mins and it's got most if the heat out of the cooler.

I don't think this is relevant here as the current Hilux has a front mounted intercooler. It would be interesting to see what affect a bulbar and lights has on it though.

OK so why did everyone laugh when I posted the dangers with airflow to the intercooler?? ;) Light bars and such...

Sometimes people think you are stupid when you try to help... Pity since this is a sharing site and postings are just helpful tips, not looking for trolling :(

Just a couple of cents worth on blocking that intercooler on the 200 series. Looking closely at that bar in front of the air intakes for the intercooler you can see it has cable ties holding a plastic mesh, shade cloth, or may be fly wire of some kind blocking most of the air intake area ,bet the engine cooling system is also working double time to keep engine temperature at normal operation. On todays engines with intercooler, air con, radiator all requiring as much air as they can get putting any kind of obstruction over the grill is just asking for trouble (BLOODY MESH ) just forget it, might need it to keep out grass hoppers out but you still have to clean it. In this particular case simply removing the mesh will solve 90% of the problem, granted the bar is a bit low but it is round & would only have minimum effect on air flow.
cheers. :)
