Tonneau cover leaking

Tonneau cover leaking

Postby tbo100 on Mon, 19 Sep 2016 5:54 +0000

Hi guys. I've got a Toyota sr5 with a Toyota tonneau cover. Problem is it's always letting water in when it rains. Anyone else having this issue.

they leak, they aren't waterproof just water resistant
if you want waterproof, you might have to look at a canopy

I've got the hard tonneau and it will let rain water in. There's an upgrade option you can buy from Toyota to make it rain proof... or there's others here who've gone to Clarke Rubber and DIY'd themselves with good results.

Yes Toyota do sell an aftermarket third party Dust Defense Kit (Part #PZQ70-89A13) that seals the tail gate but not the sports bar insertion through the tonneau cover, assuming that you have a sports bar of course.

do the factory tonneau covers clip to the tailgate and do you need to mount a rail?
