Canopy choices...

Anyone know what canopy options are available for 2015+ SR5 Extra Cab?
At this stage I only know of TJM poor mans model.
Really wanted central locking, smooth finish and side opening windows. Roof racks too.

What sort of prices are people bring quoted?
I went in today looking at the flexiglass sport and ended up walking out when it was going to cost me 4500 fitted.

Hi all, does anyone have a higher roof canopy?

The Toyota factory canopy is a little too low for my use, would be keen to hear how tall various canopies are internally.

Think mine is a higher roof, like that I can sit up in bed... Image

Seems rich? The Toyota canopy fitted was just over 3500... I'd be shopping around for that sort of money.

How do you find the genuine Canopy? I went with a http://sammitr.com.au/ SMM Tradesman with Twin lift side windows and central locking.

It looks like the Flexiglass trade and Alpha CMX are the two that are slightly taller than standard, maybe 50mm or so.

Flexitrade is about $2700.

Mines a bit different. My last hilux was a checker plate ally which mounted to the tray (no floor). Local Brissy made. Cheaper end of the market
My new hilux has a Rates Mates at Yatala (yeh I'll plug them cause I love it). This one is a 2/3 tray length powder coat white (also Yatala mob) with internal 40mm RHS bracing and bars up top. BIG gull wing doors, with proper floor (no leaks!!) and ally, about 80kg. About $2900 all up.
Took the option to increase the height another 100mm, so now the fridge clears the roof line when on top of the slide out draw.

I removed 2/3 of the tray to reduce the height, removed the head board and modified the drop-sides to suit. Leaves me 600mm for easy access to tools and space for the dog etc

The white powder colour option makes an ENORMOUS difference to the internal & external temp. Over 20deg C and then some.

Anyone have a link to, or know, the maximum heights of the genuine canopy and/or the ARB ascent above the top of the tub for the SR5 ?

Cheers

Another question ... anyone know the part number for the Toyota canopy for the SR5 so that I can check out the installation instructions ? I’ve seen a decently priced 2nd hand canopy but it has no ‘fitting kit’. Wondering what the fitting kit make up is and if it’s a separate part that can be ordered separately.

Thanks blackpak !
Where are these codes able to be found ? I've got a feeling I've seen them on the web before but can't for the life of me find them now.

Verry happy with the canopy.

Anyone else have a problem with the genuine canopy pop out window latches not being able to hold the window open over rough roads (pot holes, corrugations) ?

Not sure if it's just mine (or user error !)

:? why would you want to keep a pop out window open whilst driving mate?
