Fuel Filter Replacement

Has anyone else had issues with their fuel filter warning message coming up. Had mine come up at 30K then replaced but 3K later the warning message came back up again? Got Toyota to clear the code and it hasn't comeback on since.

Fill up from the same servo every time so don't think its a fuel problem.

Also does anyone know how to clear the fuel filter warning, been told you can clear it by holding the trip b meter down whilst starting the car and others saying you need to disconnect sensor from the fuel filter then start the car.

There has been an updated fuel filter housing with a new switch for current model HLX. Check with a dealer about an upgrade. new number for Gen 8 is 233000L101

Replace fuel filter WARNING

I just done a service on my 2018 hilux 3 litre non turbo African spec. Now I'm getting a warning on the dash " REPLACE FUEL FILTER.

I've tried all the methods I've seen for the older model Hilux but they don't work.

Any ideas would be great.

I'm surprised no one has come across this issue on the new hilux. I cant be the only one servicing myself.

Hi Frank,
Just to confirm - you have an 8th Gen hilux? This is the Gen 3-6 forum
If you do have the new generation let us know what was done on the service, how many km and if the fuel filter had been changed at that service.

I can then move it to the correct section for Gen 8 owners to view and possibly trouble shoot with you
First thing that comes to mind is a cross threaded fuel housing (if it has been changed) letting air in but could be anything

A pic of the fuel filter housing may help

Edit
Moved to Gen 8 forum

I've been back to the dealer for a service and it looks like he's changed the housing. Have to wait till I service it myself next time to see if I can turn off the light.

Thanks for getting back Frank. 8-) Sounds like it could have been a cracked housing or cross thread letting in air. Gotta be precise with that housing cap.

Had the same thing happen to mine last service.
All i needed to do was unplug the senor turn on the car then plug the senor back in while the car was running then the message disappeared.

I'm having the same problem with mine, it's a 2015 model, but Gen 8 model.

Have replaced fuel filter twice at Toyota, light still comes on. Took it back today as it was just serviced yesterday and replacement filter installed. They cleared the warning light, then I drove down the road and it happened again. I went back and Toyota state I have to return to organise diagnostic testing.

Anywho, just probing to see if this has happened to anyone else? I'm currently sitting at approx 135,000 kms in an SR5.
