What rear spring weight should I get?

What rear spring weight should I get?

Postby wombat81 on Mon, 27 Dec 2021 6:58 +0000

G'day all. Just after thoughts on rear springs. I have an aluminium tray, aluminium gull wing canopy, aluminium fit out, 75 litre Dometic fridge, 2 Lithium batteries, a solar panel and some recorder gear, tools and bits and pieces. I also tow a caravan with a ball weight around 160kg.

Will 300-350kg springs be enough, or would 580kg+ be safer?

There's nothing worse than saggy arse when the caravan is hooked up.

Thanks

I would go with higher load limit and then when not towing, compensate by dropping tyre pressure by a bit.
