Wheel alignment, wollongong

Postby Silverfox1111 on Sat, 11 Aug 2018 6:46 +0000

G'day all
After recommendations for a wheel aligner in the wollongong, nsw, area.
Not happy with my previous alignment done on my 2" lifted lux. The bloke put max castor in which was good for straight line stability, but also put in heaps of positive camber which isn't helping wet grip or tyre wear.
He also claimed i needed adjustable UCA's, but i thought they were only required for lifts bigger than 2".

Hi Silverfox,

I had a 2" Dobinson fitted to my 2017 SR5 by Wollongong 4x4 & diesel.
They used Pedders as they are directly behind them, very happy with the wheel alignment.

Have also used bridgestone in Wollongong, give either a go.

Gday chich
I've got the same lift as you, installed by joe & he's crew at wollongong diesel as well.
Pedders did the initial alignment but tyres were scrubbing on the outside. Had pedders do alignments on other cars in the past & weren't overly impressed on any of them.
Had blairs tyres at corrimal & kays tyres at albion park suggested on the fortunner forum so might give kays a go as its closer.
Does your hilux sit level across the car when viewed from the back? Mine has a noticeable lean to the left.

Did you have the MRR installed?
I have no lean on mine, however a little rake which is normal.

I have a set of 18's with 265/65 fitted i only get scrub when i full lock to the right, other then that its fine.

Just monotube shocks, not remote.
Rides nice, just leans to the left.
