Hi everyone,

Looking at suspension upgrade due to he rear sagging heaps (leafs almost going the other way)

Have wieghed it at the local weigh bridge, front axle 1.25T rear 1.5T all up 2.75T, this has an alloy tray and full alloy canopy with work tools in it, what are other Hilux's weighing?

Looking at TJM XGS series 4000 as they have a 20% discount on and quoted $2157 fitted for raised heavy duty.

What do people think about that.

Put mine over the bride this morning, went 2.59 with 140ltrs fuel, steel :) bar, winch and heap of junk I always carry "just in case".

Just went in to TJM to get it weighed on there scales and came in at.
Front left 655kg
Front right 636kg
Rear left 790kg
Rear right 822kg

Total of 2902kg

Doesn't really match the weigh bridge results, might have a little more weight on there but wouldn't think it would be 150kg more.

Now I have to decide wether to go the TJM series 4000 in HD or go to a lovells GVM upgrade, which they was $4400 for.

What do people think. Would like to know what the standard weight is for each corner.

Mine weighs 1060 rear 1320 front. Extracab. Ally tray, flexiglass canopy. Steel bullbar side bars and steps, only one battery. Weighed with standard load which is double swag, two esky's, portaloo two chairs, tool bag and recovery bag. And my fat arse of 110kg.
Don't know about TJM suspension, I've ordered Ultimate. Lots of happy customers on here.

What is your GVM,
My 2016 is 3000 kg.
I thought the earlier ones were only about 2700 kg

I have the Lovells on mine from new, 3500 GVM with tyre upgrade.

Mine is a 2016 SR gvm is 3000kg
Was going to look at pedders for a price.

Don't know how to post photos but mine is set up with a custom alloy canopy for work, and at the moment the rear springs are pretty much flat

I have just upgraded at on track 4x4 Moss st Brisbane, to EFS 300 Kg constant rear and 70-100kg front suspension.
I have EFS bar and recon winch fitted as well, the height addition is 40mm all round.
Happy with the result and towing of the boat(which is why i upgraded)
Will be weighing shortly to get an idea with an without the boat.
The posted weights are interesting

Still trying to decide if I should go GVM upgrade to 3450kg, or just extra heavy duty leafs, as aperanlty pedders gvm upgrade only has standard height front, although the triton he had fitted with it didn't look standard height.

Now leaning towards a pedders GVM upgrade as they certify for all states, and lovells only do the state you are in if done after registration.

They do a kit that brings GVM to 3450kg.

Has anyone else had a pedders kit installed that carry a lot of weight on the back?

Would be good to get some feedback before I spend $3500 on new suspension.

I've got the Pedders GVM upgrade on mine, a 2013 Dual Cab SR5.

I have had it registered in three States now and can say that the ease of registration is one of the big bonuses; not sure why Lovells have an issue with that as it is meant to be a national standard I thought. My only issue was moving from the NT to Tasmania as the NT provide a certificate rather than a plate. But when I got to Tassie I just had to show my paperwork and the engineering report from Pedders and it was all good.

I really like the ride of the GVM upgrade (Mine is 300kg lower than yours), especially when I am fully loaded for touring. I've done some pretty rough tracks around the country without an issue (about 50k km now I think). One thing is to make sure you have a constant load as when it is unloaded it is a little bit scary in the wet.

Also because it is National you can go and the upgrade rechecked and tightened for cheap in every State, very handy when you are touring about and you want a safety check done.

I would have preferred the Lovells because it provided more capacity on the front axle (Not sure if this is the same for your model), but the dealers talked me out of it (Not sure why, its one of the best mods I have done).

Axle weights for 2018 spec Dual Cab styleside auto stock standard, 31 km on the clock, full tank of fuel (Well as full as the dealer made it, seems they are expert at just making the needle touch the Full line)

Front: Left 613 kg, Right 605 kg, total 1218kg
Rear: Left 466 kg, RIght 438 kg, total 904kg

Total weight as measured 2122kg
Factory spec 2050 kg
Variance +72kg which sounds reasonable with fluids on board.
