Front end clunk

Front end clunk

Postby mad_industries on Wed, 28 Dec 2016 2:17 +0000

I seem to have a clubking problem from the front end. I think!
More so when i twistvthe car on a curb, driveway or speed hump.

I have replaced sway links. Removed the sliding links.
Spaced the arb splash guards with washes so it doesnt sit too close to mounting bolts.

Its worse when the rear wheels go over twisting front.
Cant hear it when at speed its more a low speed thing.
I have OME lift with tjm sway bar relocates and arb bullbar etx and want it sorted before i go back to arb in the new year.

Any ideas or anyone had similar issues? Its doing my head in with the clunks.

You sure it's not a broken front cv?

I cant find any play in the cv joints.
Also wouldnt it make the same sound at a higher speed?

I have a similar clunk from the front of my lux, pretty sure it's from the top hat. I have new matrix gear to go in next week to replace my billies and hopefully that will fix the problem :)

check your sway bar link nuts. Found both mine loose after hearing a slight clunking noise at low speeds.

I have the same issue with my new Hilux too! All standard suspension on 265/65R18 BGF. Took it back today, they checked & said found some nuts loose... collecting the truck Friday so will find out if fixed or not?!
