Swaybar hitting coil seat.

Swaybar hitting coil seat.

Postby ChristoMeissen on Sun, 30 Oct 2016 6:57 +0000

I need some advice, I am almost running a 3 inch lift in the front from AmadaXtreme. I heard a knocking noise from the front especially offroad. Last night I saw the swaybar is hitting the coils seat when I turn full lock left on the right wheel. It is almost touching the coil seat when the wheels are straight, the cap is only about 5mm or less between the swaybar and the coil seat and the problem is only on the right wheel.

What is my options to get it sorted, probably the easiest is a swaybar relocation kit, the problem is in South Africa they are almost impossible to find and if I will find it will probably be for a Hilux Vigo. Will a relocation kit from a Hilux Vigo fit on a Hilux Revo. I am also going to AmadaXtreme tomorrow because it is a friend of mine, but he said he doesn't like relocation kits. Is there another solution to solve it?

Took my Dads Vigo's swaybar relocation kit and the Vigo's is shorter than the Revo so it doesn't fit

I seem to have the same issue after fitting 50mm lift. Is this a common problem? What is the remedy? Thanks for any advice.

Yeah Swaybar relocation brackets will solve the issue, or just remove the swaybar completely :D

Will check mine later. I was told when getting the lift done that a swaybar relocator wasn't needed as I only went a 2 inch lift...

I'm running a 4 inch lift and found that anything 3 and over causes the sway bar to hit.
Kpd4x4 have a relocation kit. It's easy to find them on google. Was pretty inexpensive.

Ordered EFS kit hope will fix it, yeah mine is 50mm lift clashing on the left side, right side still has a few mm of clearance, I am guessing it gets worse though down travel / droop articulation.

I think in part it depends on the geometry of the coil seat. I think some setups such as OME bp51 have a tapered coil seat, I think this might give a little more clearance to the sway bar. Once I work out solution and how to post pics I'll show before n after pics.
